England's largest indoor farm Fischer Farms chooses Norfolk location to improve water quality using our ozone technology.
The Norfolk site, built in 2022, is one of the largest vertical farms in the world. The 4-acre site, located in The Food Enterprise Park in Norwich, houses 25,000 m2 of vertically stacked growing space, providing enough capacity to deliver 6.5 tons of leafy salad, herbs and other fresh produce each day.
To improve water quality, each water system (total of 3 units) will be equipped with an ozone plant type Aquazone. These machines are seamlessly implemented into the existing water system. The ozone reduces the amount of bacteria and fungi in the water and maximizes oxygen in the water. This gives a healthier and more vigorous crop which is less susceptible to diseases. This improves production.
In the preliminary process, Fischer Farms held the different types of water disinfection side by side and weighed all the pros and cons. It was quickly clear that ozone was the technique of choice for Fischer Farms.
Currently, the facilities are being built in Loenen and will go into operation this spring. Agrozone will also be on hand for future indoor farms to be built by Fischer Farms.
